    Highlights Include:

Athabasca Lookout - Offering one of the most stunning panoramas of Alberta's Northern Rockies, this viewpoint sits at 1,585 metres (5,200 ft.) above sea level. From here, enjoy breathtaking views of Solomon Valley, Roche Miette, Brule Lake, and the Athabasca River.

Maligne Canyon - Made up of primarily of limestone, this canyon has been created by the process of erosion over thousands of years. The pounding waterfalls, swirling river, and glaciation during the last Ice Age have all contributed to the creation of an impressive canyon that can be as narrow as 2 metres (6.6 ft.) and reaches a depth of up to 50 metres (160 ft.).

Medicine Lake - This lake is considered a geologic anomaly, as it is not actually a lake, but rather an area where the Maligne River becomes restricted and then disappears underground. During the summer, when meltwater levels rise, the river cannot drain underground fast enough and, like a bathtub, the area will fill up to form Medicine Lake. In the winter months, the lake no longer exists and the lake bed becomes a mud flat with a series of scattered pools, connected by a small stream.

Maligne Lake - This stunning lake is the largest in the Canadian Rockies at 22 kilometres (13.7 miles) long and features Spirit Island, one of the most photographed locations in the world. A symbol of the tranquility and unrivalled beauty Jasper National Park has to offer, the Maligne Lake area is popular with tourists and locals alike.

Spirit Island, as well as the two official campsites on the lake, are only accessible by boat.

    * Warm layers are strongly recommended for the Maligne Lake Cruise. Occasional winds off the lake can be chilly without a wind breaking layer or long sleeves.

Let's head out for the day to one of the most intriguing and spectacular areas in Alberta and perhaps one of the most fascinating in the world, the Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology.

This world renown museum of palaeontology is located on the north edge of the town of Drumheller, just 6 kilometres from the centre of town. Named for Joseph Tyrell who discovered the bones of Albertasaurus (a meat-eating cousin of the Tyrannosaurus Rex) in 1884, it features displays of some of the best fossils in the world, plus entertaining interactive exhibits for children and many other attractions.

We will follow the Dinosaur Trail, a network of roads that will take us around the Red Deer River Valley to uncover the man-made and natural wonders of Alberta's Badlands. As we approach Drumheller the rolling hills suddenly drop off hundreds of feet into mysterious winding canyons. Strange land formations rise up on all sides; sculpted by wind and water into hauntingly beautiful shapes sunbathed in terra cotta, bronze and amber.

After visiting the Royal Tyrell Museum, we will head to Wayne, one of the Alberta Badlands' quirkiest places.  We will visit the Last Chance Saloon, where parts of the movie "Shanghai Noon" with Jackie Chan were filmed.  The Saloon is one of Alberta's only operating cowboy relics and offers a great Western atmosphere while you enjoy lunch!

Rate is $126.00/Person (minimum of 2 people to book a reservation).   Fare includes transportation to and from Calgary and museum admission fees.  Hotel pickup/drop-off can be arranged ($10 each way) if in downtown area.

Tour departs at 7:45 AM and returns to Calgary approximately 5 PM. Tyrell Museum is closed on Mondays during the winter season.
